Fellowship

The Fellowship Program pairs technical students at Lund University with nonprofits that have a real, unsolved problem.

How it works

Understand
We start by understanding what's holding you back, what the data looks like, what has already been tried, and what success would actually mean for you.
Scope
We then turn that understanding into a scoped problem that a team can finish in a semester.
AI Engineers
Students apply, and we match them to projects by the specific skills the problem needs.
Build
Fifteen hours a week, one team, one project. Past work includes fine-tuning a language model on domain-specific data, building a predictive model from years of untouched records, and replacing a spreadsheet-and-manual-effort pipeline with something that runs itself.

What the organization gets back

Everything is open source from the first commit. In January and June, teams present to partners and sponsors. At the end of the semester, you get the code, the documentation, and a proper handover. Projects that need more time can run a second semester.

What we ask of you

A standing weekly check-in the whole way through, so the work stays anchored to what you need.

The work is pro bono. In return, we ask for a contact person who can give two hours a week of guidance. Data access and direct costs covering (API fees, data licensing, that kind of thing) are also expected.
